Like many older properties, the existing windows had seen better days. The large front bay windows suffered from severely blown double-glazing units, leaving the glass permanently misted, foggy and unsightly. According to the Energy Saving Trust, roughly 18% of a typical home’s heat loss escapes directly through inefficient or failing windows. The old window configurations also lacked versatile ventilation options, and the traditional reddish-brown external tile hanging on the front bay gave the property a dated look. While they initially considered a quick fix, we recommended a completely new set of windows rather than a repair. A simple repair might have temporarily cleared the glass, but it wouldn’t have solved the core issues of structural heat loss or the dated aesthetic. Full replacements let them transform the look of the property and elevate its kerb appeal, while modern openings vastly improved ventilation and airflow throughout the home. A permanent solution, rather than a short-term fix.
The Solution: A-Rated UPVC Windows & Modern Kerb Appeal

- Upgraded bay windows: We replaced the old frames with premium A-rated UPVC windows. The new design incorporates top-opening vents, offering excellent airflow control and a balanced, symmetrical look from the street.
- Complete exterior modernisation: To lift the property’s kerb appeal, the dated red tiling on the front bay was replaced with contemporary dark slate-grey tile hanging. This complements the crisp white UPVC frames and gives the home a fresh, high-end finish.
- Rear and side improvements: The theme continued across the rest of the house, with new white UPVC kitchen windows and side doors installed to ensure uniform thermal performance and maximum security across every entry point.
